Life is a journey, not a destination.

Fitness Check-in #1

Great progress thus far since my first fitness rant post.

  1. I’ve implemented no soda/caffeine. For over a week and a half, I’ve had a stint of no soda for 4 days straight, 5 days total. That’s great. Drinking lots of water, which is great. The water packet flavoring is really helping. I did try a zero calorie, zero sugar, no caffeine root beer and it wasn’t terrible… so I’m thinking… if my urges are that bad, I need to just grab one of those. Great progress here thus far.
  2. My 12-8 window still hasn’t really kicked in, but that’s my next step. I’m starting that TODAY. From today on, I’m now eating only from 12pm-8pm local time. I specify local time because I do switch time zones, so I’m just going to do the local time which will make it easier. Again, I’m not at the point where I’m really restricting the food type/intake, but as long as it’s in my 12pm-8pm window, then it’s ok. As for my waters, I’ll still drink my water with packet flavoring after 8pm.
  3. I also found an inspirational post on reddit where a gentleman lost a bunch of weight and got fit here:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/fitness30plus/comments/1geikon/went_from_250_lbs_210_lbs_in_16_months_using_ai/?share_id=WASvbWF5gRBfGMK6UM395
I really like the way he’s building out his food regimen and workout regimen. I’m going to do the same. I’ll break this out in the next two items:
  4. Food regimen: Per that reddit post, he broke it down to 7 days worth of food that he consistently ate. When I twice lost thirty pounds, I was just eating the same food every single day. That isn’t manageable long-term. But his idea of eating the same foods in a weekly interval interest me. I think this would be manageable for me long-term. So while his food isn’t exactly what I’ll eat… I’m now going to take his format and replace it with foods that I will eat… and will cycle through that list every week. I’m currently working on getting this food list worked out.
  5. Workout regimen: I found it really interesting that his entire workout was utilizing a sandbag for weights. I was so intrigued, that I already purchased some on Amazon. I bought a pack of two bags, one small and one large. Plus a slam ball, because I do love me some slam ball. Those will be delivered on Wednesday and I can start working out at home. Then I don’t have to go to the gym at all. Just get my workouts at home.

Ok. That’s a pile of English for you. That’s my update, fitness wise. Great progress being made. I’m happy with it. Looking forward to posting my next update. Oh and pics WILL BE COMING soon.
