Life is a journey, not a destination.

For Brian Nichols – The Journey Starts Here

Journey

Well, here we are again. I’ve bought and started websites, but never specifically a blog. Thought I would get some of my ideas laid out now while I’m still working through the process of creating the site, setting the themes, figuring out specifically content wise what I’m wanting to do, etc. A couple goals of this site:

  1. Help myself become a better person. I feel this can come about by reflection and documentation. Even though I’m only 31 years old, there’s days where I can’t remember what I did yesterday or the day before. I’m hoping to document my days, ideas, feelings, and even regrets.
  2. I would like to consider myself a lifelong learner. This wasn’t always the case. I’ve always been very inquisitive and ALWAYS questioned everything I was told. But specifically in the past year or so, I feel that I turned a new leaf where I’m wanting to learn everything that I can, including experiences (and what I’ve learned from those). I’d like to use this blog to talk over some of the ideas, practices, and information I learn to help solidify it myself in my brain, as well as share the knowledge with others. I’ve been trying to read more and if I find books beneficial, I’ll try and document that.
  3. Specifically document my experiences since some may be more short lived than others, to at least jog my own memory. Almost journal-esque.
  4. Use this blog to obtain experience for a possible freelance writing gig in the future. That’s far off and nothing I’m looking for now. Recently I have been been trying to strive to have a forward thinking mindset. One of the ideas from that thinking is freelance writing. But I’m needing some experience first. For now, I’m hoping to use this blog as a blank canvas… and I’m going to be painting on it.

I’m going to set a schedule for myself to have a post up I’m thinking at least twice a week. For some reason, Tuesdays and Fridays seem like good days to have new posts. Maybe I’ll set a schedule that includes days and times that they’ll be up. I wonder if I can schedule pages being published via WordPress…

Side-note: If you google “Brian Nichols”, the first result is that of a sick, twisted man. I’m hoping with some of my online presence, I can put the name “Brian Nichols” into a better light.

Obviously you don’t know much about me at this point and I don’t have anything to sell you. This blog will just be another person’s perspective on life. Thanks for reading and looking forward to my first official blog post 🙂
